This three-day conference, generously funded by the Icelandic Research Fund and the University of Bergen, will be an attempt to better understand philosophical progress. What is it to make progress in philosophy? Is philosophical progress worth making currently made? What are the greatest obstacles to philosophical progress? Does philosophy have methods for achieving progress? And what can we do, better or differently, to make sure that our current research projects result in philosophical progress?

Here is our list of invited speakers:

Sorin Bangu (Bergen), Samuel Baron (ACU Melbourne), Alexander Bird (Cambridge), Helen Beebee (Leeds), Herman Cappelen (Hong Kong), Finnur Dellsén (Iceland), Tina Firing (Iceland), Insa Lawler (UNCG), Kerry McKenzie (UC San Diego), James Norton (Tasmania), Daniel Stoljar (ANU), Timothy Williamson (Oxford), Ylwa Sjölin Wirling (Gothenburg).

More information about the event will be announced early in June. If you have any questions before that, feel free to contact Tina Firing at tina.firing@ntnu.no.

Gratis/Free entry.

Noen vil si at nr. 2-byen Bergen lider under et mindreverdighetskompleks. Men er det så ille?
